I am just curious how others feel about hosting someone who is not arriving for touring but rather for racing. ie: I have had a request from someone who is planning to be in my area for a race. This person has toured in the past, but not this time.
So, what are your thoughts about hosting for someone who on this date is only arriving to enter a race.
Cheers

If the guest is coming on his bike - it would be OK for me. If he is coming by car - it would be a strict no.

I'd agree with Andreas. Arrival by train would be fine too. By car: nope.
For me, that would be absolutely fine.
There are different times for different adventures, and I like to think there is a lot of leniency for alternative styles of travel in this community. I'd be happy to host hikers, hitchhikers, roller-bladers, ect.. that find me here too.
Ultimately it's down to you. In this case, the traveller probably doesn't need a warm shower that much, but a place to sleep well before partaking in a bicycle race will probably do him much good. The general idea is a bit different, but if you are available at the time and want to hang out with somebody interesting, then it sounds like a win win to me!
