Eurovelo 1 from Faro in portugal northwards to spanish border and on to Santiago de compostela.
I am hoping to set off mid april- early may on my Brompton!
Has anyone done this route and got any experiences to offer. Are there hostels south of lisbon- i understand that north of lisbon there are pilgrim hostels. But i am a little worriedsd about accommodation after leaving tourist hots spots of algarve.

cycled a lot in Portugal between 1999 -2001 and spent some part of almost every year until 2011 there. Portugal had then ( and probably still does ) plenty of very affordable campsites ( especially on coast and youth hostels. Not sure about Pilgrim Hostels though. I am sure the internet will though. Here is some info on campsites and youth hostels.
